Fairtrade Fortnight this year runs from 25th February until 10th March.

This is an annual event and highlights the difference Fairtrade can make to lives and communities. This year the focus is on cocoa.

The Cote d'Ivoire is the biggest producer of cocoa in the world and only 6% of their production is sold on Fairtrade terms. Farmers have seen their income fall by 30 to 40% from year to year.

A petition is being launched during Fairtrade Fortnight calling on the Government to take greater action to make fairer trade possible.

When buying your cocoa or chocolate, look for the Fairtrade label!
