8th Stirling (St Ninians) Boys’ Brigade Company is a Church Organisation of St Ninians Old Parish Church. The Company meets in St Ninians Old Parish Church Halls in Kirk Wynd, Stirling at the following times from September until May each year:- Anchor Boys Wednesday 6pm – 7pm The Anchor Boys! Presently, the Company strength is 33 members, consisting of 15 Anchor Boys P1-P3, 8 Junior Section Boys P4-P6, and 10 Company Section lads P7 – S6. New members are always welcome! A varied programme is in place and the Company takes part in local and National BB competitions such as Christian Education, drill, football, swimming, 10 pin bowling, badminton and quizzes. The Company has a proud tradition of producing Queen’s Men. Currently there are two Seniors working towards the Queen’s Badge which is the top award in the Boys’ Brigade. Part of their badge work is to undergo at least 30 hours Community Service. The majority of the work undertaken by 8th Stirling is to assist with a lemonade bottle collection in aid of funds for Strathcarron Hospice. This collection has raised in excess of £100,000 for the Hospice. The annual summer camp this year will be held in July at Tighnabruaich, Argyll, - a favourite location.
